The Meta Inferences Engine : a tool to use metaknowledge

چکیده

The Meta Inferences Engine (MIE) is an inferences engine not only enabling the activation of rules, but also metarules. So it belongs to systems managing metaknowledge. This article presents the structure used, as well as the functioning of three versions of MIE. The system was tested within the framework of the CASSICE project and more particularly with the rule-based system IDRES. The results show that MIE is operational and that the last version is faster than the first two ones. Nevertheless the meta inferences engine still contains gaps and the future versions should be corrected.
